Breakfast Club
When is the Breakfast Club open?
It runs from 7.30—8.35 am every school day. At 8.35 am, Smitham children go straight to their classrooms.
Who is the Club for?
The Club is for all children in Smitham Primary School from Reception to Year 6.
Where will the Club actually take place?
The Club is based in the grounds of Smitham Primary School, in the Nest (modular classroom located by the field). Access to this is around the side of the school building.
What breakfast is provided?
It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The Breakfast Club provides your child with a healthy range of food, including cereals, toast, fruit and milk. Breakfast is a calm, social time, with the children eating together at a table.
What else goes on?
After breakfast, the children are free to choose from a range of supervised activities, including board games, construction, art, etc. While a key benefit of the club is to provide an opportunity for positive social interaction, the children may also choose to quietly read or receive some support with completing their homework.
What supervision is there?
The Club is run by Mrs Laura Crawford-Fourie, Mrs Svetlana Zhukauskene and Mrs Debbie Miles, all very experienced and skilled in interacting positively with children.
How many places are available?
Unfortunately places are limited to 30 children. This is to ensure that your child has a safe and enjoyable time. Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
How do I book?
Bookings can be made 24 hours in advance and should be made via ParentPay. If you wish to book within the 24 hour deadline please contact the school (we may need to check availability).
Does my child need to go every day?
No. You can pick and choose the days.
What is the charge for this service?
The cost of the club is £4.00 per day per child.
If you have any queries at all, please do contact either Mrs Crawford-Fourie or Mrs Piper. The Breakfast Club is set-up to meet the needs of both you and your child/ children. We will work hard to meet those needs.
